Bob
Horn (Ambassador Bob) has proven to be a great spokesperson for the Hot
Wax Show. Bob and his lovely wife Gail attend most shows and comment on
the experience from the audience and fan's viewpoint. This is a
perspective that we as performers can’t see let alone comment. Thank
you Bob and Gail for your long support of the Hot Wax effort to “Keep
the Memories Alive.”
As I'm sitting here in my office....still
trying to calm down from that very exciting show in Greensburg Indiana
last night....I was checking out the remaining upcoming Hot Wax
schedule...for the 2009 Hot Wax Summer tour...and what a great schedule
it is!
By the way... congratulations to everyone in "Hot Wax Nation" for
contributing to Hot Wax landing another new great gig....last week.
"Hot Wax" is thrilled and very honored to have been invited to do a
benefit show in Covington Kentucky on November 21 for all our very
brave young men and women currently serving in the military. I'm sure
that this show is also a tribute to all of our military veterans who
has served our country so bravely in the past also.
When I say the entire Hot Wax Nation contributed to landing this
wonderful prestigious new show in Covinton...that is exactly what I
mean. Of course....it all starts with all of our talented lads that
perform on stage....and what a talented group they are!
I know that there has been a whole lot of talented people wear that
proud Hot Wax uniform over the past 25 years...but I can't imagine that
there has ever been a Hot Wax group more talented then this current
bunch! I'm not the only Hot Wax lover who feels that way....as a lot of
"Hot Waxer's" who have been around Hot Wax a lot longer than I.....
have told me the same thing!
However...as great as the Hot Wax band is....it still takes more than
just fantastic talent to land the great shows that Hot Wax gets! I know
this sounds like an old worn out cliche....but....it is truly a team
effort in "Hot Wax Nation" to put together the kind of schedule....that
Bobby and the boys have put together this season!
It also takes the sacrifices of all the wonderful wives and girl
friends...of all of the Hot Wax personnel....from the Hot Wax band
members ...to the Technical support troops (SOS ) guys....and to the
Promotional support troops ( 3 Musketeer's ). ....to make this whole
Hot Wax experience work as well as it does!
But even more importantly.....it takes great fans....like the legion of
fans (waxer's") that Hot Wax is so fortunate and grateful to have to
land most of these great gigs! Let me take a few moments to elaborate a
little. As good as Hot Wax is...and make no mistake about that...they
are very good....but.... that fact alone...would not have landed many
of these great shows.
It is the complete package that impresses the bookers and the people
interested in hiring Hot Wax for their events! When the potential
booker arrives at an event....and see large numbers of Hot Wax fans
setting up chairs to get a good seat several hours before a
show....they know that something very special is going on here!
When the people looking to book a band...see large numbers of Hot Wax
fans decked out in all kinds of Hot Wax clothing....they know something
very special is going on! When the booker see's the overwhelming
enthusiasm of the Hot Wax fans...and all of the standing
ovations....they know something very special is going on! When the
Booker sees all of the joy and smiles on the faces of all of the Hot
Wax fans...they know that something very special is going on!
When a Booker notices there is not a dry eye in the place as the crowd
rises as one to join hands and wave flags....when Hot Wax does their
very moving and very emotional patriotic medley as their tribute to all
of our brave veterans who have served or who are currently serving in
our armed forces....he again knows that there is something really
special going on!
When the booker realizes that at a lot of these great venues....that
legions of loyal Hot Wax fans have driven many, many miles and several
hours to see Hot Wax perform....the Booker knows something very special
is going on! When...after a 3 hour show ....the Booker still hears loud
chants of "one more song"....because the fans just can't get enough of
what they have enjoyed all evening....they know that something very
special is going on!
When the booker sees the fun that the crowd is having.....when all of
us supposedly mature adults rush the stage....like we might have done
as teenagers...at the end of the show to join the band in singing and
dancing to the encore number ...the Booker knows something very special
is going on...and you know what....he's right....there is something
very special going on!!!!!
For all of those reasons that I just mentioned....that is why Hot Wax
lands so many great shows in so many great communities all throughout
the states of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. When a person or booker is
given the big responsibility of hiring entertainment for their
important event.....they don't like taking chances or taking
risks....and they certainly want to impress the people they are working
for. When that person witnesses everything that I just mentioned above
.....any worrying about taking chances or taking risks is completely
eliminated.
The only risk that the booker or organization that hires Hot Wax needs
to worry about...is the sore back they may get from all of the pats on
the back and congratulations they received from thier organization or
committee for a job well done ....for ...finding and signing...Hot
Wax....this great fun filled family entertainment for their event!
Anyway "waxer's"....not only did all of your great support help Hot Wax
to land this great new benefit show in Covington Kentucky to support
our troops.....but I would also like to announce that just last week
Hot Wax was just resigned to perform in Batesville next year for the
3rd consecutive year...and that is great news.... as that is one of our
favorite events!
After Hot Wax's very successful show last night in Greensburg
Indiana....with that huge crowd....Hot Wax was also approached about
doing another event in Greensburg....and while I can't confirm any
details on that yet...chances look pretty good.... that we may be
returning to the wonderful city of Greensburg very soon!
By the way..."Hot Wax Nation" would like to wish Greensburg a very,
very HAPPY 150th birthday!!!! That was some Birthday party last night
...wasn't it....and we certainly want to thank Janet and all of the
other great people on the organizing committee who worked so hard to
put on this wonderful 7 day event!
We especially want to thank Janet and her committee for letting Hot Wax
headline the opening night ceremonies....as Hot Was was truly honored
to have been given that privledge....so THANK YOU ....Greensburg!
I'd be remiss if I also didn't take the time to also Thank Janet and
all of her very hard worrking team mates on her committee for making
Hot Wax feel so welcome. The hospitality was just wondeful....and all
of the special arrangements that were made to make Hot Wax feel so
comfortable were strictly first rate....and I sincerely mean that....so
one more time....THANK YOU VERY MUCH.....GREENSBURG.....as it was truly
a pleasure to perform atr your event!!!!
Ok "Waxer's"....great , great job once again and .....it's now on to
Lawrenceburg Indiana this Thursday night....and then on to Sardinia
Ohio next Saturday night, June the 27th,...and then on to the Bearcreek
vacation resort in Bryant Indiana the following week on the 4th of July
as "Hot Wax " fever ...continues to spread through out the tri-state
area . You know what though...."Hot Wax" fever is one fever I never
mind catching....do you ?
